ASIANET
TELEVISION
Asianet is the first regional language channel aired in Doha through Q-Tel
network.
Asianet is the largest Malayalam satellite television channel. It reaches
almost all households of Kerala and, along with its sister channel, Global,
covers much of South India and all the metros and major cities of India.
The signals of Asianet cover the entire Indian sub-continent, Sri Lanka,
China, the South East Asia, the entire Persian Gulf, the UK, Europe and
the lower half of the former Soviet Union. This is virtually half the
Globe, reaching sixty-odd countries.
The channels have production facilities that rank among the best in the
country at its Studio at Puliyarakonam and at Gorky Bhavanam, in Thiruvananthapuram.
About 300 committed professionals work round the clock to bring to their
audience programmes of unsurpassed quality and variety.
Asianet began its operations by telecasting for two
hours daily in 1993, which were increased to round the clock. The Global
channel came into being first as a segment catering to the Gulf viewers
and grew into a 24-hour channel in 2001.
